The Asian Football Confederation's U-13 Festival of Football began in Dhaka, Bangladesh, yesterday with the participation of 12 teams from the Central and South Asian region. Teams from Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and hosts Bangladesh are taking part in the 5-day event officially opened by the Director General of Bangladesh’s Institute of Sports, Brigadier General Shaukat Hussain.
An AFC `C’ certificate coaching course, a referees course and a workshop for head coaches of all the teams are being held in conjunction with the festival. A workshop for head coaches by Secret to Sports (S2S), an online coaching tool, is also being held during the event. S2S online tool supports the quality and quantity of coaching and training youth and grassroots football players.
