Bahrain will play two international friendly matches next month as part of their preparations for the Asian Cup 2007 to be held in July. New national football team coach Milan Macala revealed his plans over the next two months leading up to the tournament beginning on 7 July. Bahrain's pre-tournament schedule includes a friendly against the UAE in Kuala Lumpur on 27 June and will be followed by a match against Vietnam in Hanoi on either 30 June or 1 July. From there, the team will fly to Jakarta on 2 July for the Asian Cup.
Macala added that the Bahrain Football Association is currently trying to set up a third friendly either on 3 or 4 July most likely against a Malaysian First Division side. Prior to the friendlies, Macala will conduct a 12-day training camp from 11 to 22 June in Europe, most likely in Austria.
