Cameroon's Olympic team showed why the nation is a world cup contender by manhandling Vietnam U-23 by a score of 4-1 at the Bach Viet Cup invitation football tournament held in Ho Chi Minh City. The defeat saw Cameroon finish second on seven points with a cash prize of US$20,000, behind Finland, better on goal difference to take home the championship trophy with a $40,000 prize. The other participant, Indonesia, was held scoreless throughout the tournament and gave up a full eight goals.
