Iran reached an agreement with the world governing body FIFA over allowing Iran's national football team to attend the Asian Games despite suspension from international games, the news agency ISNA reported. An unnamed official of the Islamic Republic of Iran Football Federation told ISNA that negotiations with the FIFA eventually led to a deal enabling the Iranian national football team to attend the games in Doha, Qatar, which start next week. The source said that negotiations were held with FIFA president Joseph Blatter and he agreed with allowing Iran's Under-23 team to play in Doha. But in return Iran must meet all FIFA demands within one month, the source added. The news network Khabar confirmed the ISNA report, saying that the IRIFF would soon issue an official statement.
