The final of the 2006 Asian Football Confederation's President's Cup at the Sarawak Stadium, Malaysia, was an all Central Asian affair with Ildar Amirov scoring both goals for extra-time winner Dordoi-Dynamo of Kyrgyzstan over Tajikistan's FC Vakhsh. Dordoi coach Boris Podkorytov expressed his delight after the match. “Obviously, the result is good for us. The players were very motivated, especially because of the disappointment of losing in the final last year and the group match defeat,” Podkorytov, who also coaches the Kyrgyzstan national team, told AFCMedia. “Vakhsh were worthy opponents.
