More than 2000 soccer clubs across Australia have the chance to participate in an innovative development program developed by telecommunications giant Telstra and Football Federation Australia. The Telstra Football Assistance Fund, part of Telstra’s A1.3 million assistance fund for sporting clubs across the country, will provide $200,000 worth of equipment - footballs, bibs, goal posts, goal nets and more - to football clubs.
Telstra Head of Marketing Services, Megan Keleher, said the football fund is a continuation of Telstra’s commitment to supporting the community and keeping Australian kids active. "This is also about encouraging young people to play a greater part in their community, mix with their peers and maintain a healthy lifestyle which is an important part of Telstra’s sponsorship with FFA,” she announced.
Clubs involved with FFA can apply for equipment up to the value of A$2,000. Application forms for assistance for essential football equipment and are available on-line and must be submitted by 7 October 2005.
